Pictured is CH. Westwind's Golden Girl SS ( Zsa Zsa). She finished her championship in the fall of 2006. Zsa Zsa will be specialed at the Eukanuba Invitational dog show in California in December and then will be bred in January 2008.

Westwind's only reason for breeding dachsunds is for the improvement and continuity of superior dogs. We strive not only for correct AKC conformation standard in our dogs, but also excellent temperament.
Prospective breedings are planned on selective pedigree background, soundness as well as physical characteristic considerations. Westwind's has been breeding and showing dachsunds for over twenty years. We handle most of our own dachsunds in the conformation show ring.
Our kennel has produced a number of Champions for us as well as for others. We are active members of our local kennel club and work with various rescue groups to help other dachsunds that are not fortunate enough to be in a loving home.
We have a vast network of "family" across the United States.
Westwind's supports AKC's, The Dachsund Club of America's, and the SPCA's position on spaying or neutering companion animals. Too many cute, playful puppies grow up to face living on the streets, or perhaps a shelter, and then ultimately euthanasia. We have four or five rescue animals on our premises at all times in an effort to do a small part in saving these wonderful creatures from the fate of hunger, abandonment, and ultimately death.
Our experience over the years has been that even the most unsocialized Dachshund, with loving care and patience can become a beloved pet. Any companion animal from Westwind's is sold or placed on a spay/neuter contract with Limited AKC Registration papers (or "adoption" papers if a rescue) as a family member that will be loved through all stages of their lives.
